Northern Senators Forum Honors Alhaji Tanko Yakasai on His 100th Birthday

The Northern Senators Forum (NSF) has extended heartfelt congratulations to Alhaji Salihu Abubakar Tanko Yakasai, a pioneering member of the Northern Elements Progressive Union (NEPU), as he celebrates his centenary birthday.
In a statement signed by Senator Abdulaziz Musa Yara’dua, Chairman of the NSF, the forum described Tanko Yakasai’s life as a shining example of patriotism, dedication, and service to Nigeria.
“Reaching 100 years is no small feat, and we honor Alhaji Tanko Yakasai for a lifetime devoted to the progress and unity of our nation,” the statement read. “From his early contributions as a founding member of NEPU to his service as State Commissioner in Kano and Special Assistant on National Assembly Liaison to President Shehu Shagari, his legacy is one of commitment, vision, and integrity.”
The NSF praised Tanko Yakasai’s enduring impact on Nigerian politics and society, highlighting his wisdom and experiences as a source of guidance for current and future generations.
