HON. Emmanuel Obaro, Member representing Yagba-East state Constituency at Kogi State House of Assembly, has donated patrol vehicles and motorcycles to security agencies operating in the constituency.
The Legislator has also donated lock-up shops at Itedo Makutu as part of his women empowerment initiatives with cash support grants for market women, classroom renovations at Community Secondary School, Isanlu, and drainage construction in flood-prone areas.
Commissioning the series of projects at a ceremony held at the Itedo-Makutu Central Garage, Isanlu, Hon. Obaro said the projects were part of his broader vision to promote people-centered governance.
Hon. Obaro said with the inaugurates of the initiatives in economic empowerment, improved education, and enhanced community security, “Today’s event is not just a ceremony; it is a statement of commitment, responsibility, and people-centered governance.
“It reflects our dedication to empowering our people economically while ensuring their safety, education, and well-being.”
On economic empowerment, the Lawmaker noted that the newly constructed lock-up shops will provide traders and artisans with safe and conducive business spaces.
The cash support grants, according to him, will assist market women in expanding their businesses and supporting their families.
“This grant is not a handout; it is a hand-up, an opportunity for women to grow their businesses, support their families, and strengthen our local economy.”
On education and infrastructure, Hon. Obaro said the renovation of classrooms and drainage construction were direct responses to community needs, aimed at improving the quality of life and protecting residents from seasonal flooding.
In his remark, Chairman of Yagba-East Local Government, Hon. Joshua Dare Monday, commended Hon. Obaro for his developmental strides and assured of the council’s continued partnership in advancing the welfare and safety of residents.
The Oluagba of Isanlu Makutu, His Royal Highness, Oba Ayo, commended Hon. Obaro for his efforts, describing the projects as timely and impactful.
“These projects touch the very lives of our people.“ From Education and Security to market empowerment, Hon. Obaro has shown true concern for the welfare of our communities.”
Similarly, the Area Commander of Yagba East Forest Guard, Adekunle Segun, commended the legislator for the patrol vehicles and motorcycles donated to them, noting that mobility had been a major challenge impeding their operations.
“We have been suffering from mobility, but with this gesture, our morale is lifted. “Our men will now work harder to secure Yagba East and keep criminals away from our forests” he said, as some beneficiaries expressed gratitude to Hon. Obaro for the support.
