FCT-IRS Workers Honour Acting Chairman Ango for Reform-Driven Leadership

The event, themed “A Night with Ango,” was organised by the staff of the Service over the weekend as an evening of appreciation and goodwill to celebrate Mr. Ango’s commitment to staff development, administrative transparency, and the ongoing transformation of FCT-IRS into a model revenue institution.
In a show of appreciation, staff of the Federal Capital Territory Internal Revenue Service (FCT-IRS) have celebrated their Acting Executive Chairman, Mr. Michael Ango, praising his visionary leadership and reform agenda that continue to inspire excellence, strengthen the institution, and enhance staff welfare.
In his remarks, Mr. Ango expressed deep gratitude to the staff for the recognition, saying he was humbled by the turnout and warm gestures. He reaffirmed his commitment to building an organisation anchored on staff welfare, professional growth, and service excellence.
“I am very honoured and deeply appreciative of this show of support. When I first resumed, I made a firm commitment to prioritise staff welfare, including salary increments and career progression. By the grace of God and with your continued support, we will achieve these goals,” he said.
The Acting Executive Chairman also highlighted key ongoing reforms within the Service, including the introduction of a fully automated, merit-based promotion examination system, improved working conditions across tax offices, and the procurement of staff buses to ease commuting challenges.
He stressed that the vision for the FCT-IRS was not about individual accomplishments but about institutional sustainability and shared purpose.
“Leaders will come and go, employees will come and go, but the organisation will remain. What we are building today will stand the test of time so that future generations can find pride in working here,” he added.
Mr. Ango urged staff to remain dedicated, united, and optimistic as the Service continues to pursue reforms aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and improving overall productivity.
The evening featured goodwill messages, moments of camaraderie, and heartfelt tributes from staff members who praised Mr. Ango’s humility, accessibility, and unwavering commitment to the progress of the organisation.
