Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo, has secured a second term in office following his victory in the November 8 governorship election, officially declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Sunday.
The Returning Officer and Vice Chancellor of the University of Benin, Prof. Edoba Omoregie, announced the results at INEC’s headquarters in Awka, confirming Soludo of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) as the clear winner with 422,664 votes.
Trailing far behind was Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who polled 99,445 votes, while Paul Chukwuma of the Young Progressives Party (YPP) came third with 37,753 votes.
The Labour Party’s George Moghalu and African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate John Nwosu scored 10,576 and 8,208 votes respectively.
