AFAN Breaks Silence: Disowns Kabir Ibrahim, Warns Public Against ‘Illegal’ Committee

The All Farmers Association of Nigeria (AFAN) has drawn a firm line in the sand—completely disowning Kabir Ibrahim and his dissolved National Working Committee (NWC)—after a landmark Court of Appeal judgment reaffirmed who truly leads the nation’s umbrella body for farmers.

In a strongly worded statement issued on Sunday in Abuja, AFAN President, Dr. Farouk Rabiu-Mudi, warned government agencies, development partners, and the general public to steer clear of Ibrahim and anyone parading under the defunct faction.

“They have no legal authority to speak or act for AFAN,” Rabiu-Mudi declared.

He explained that the Court of Appeal ruling, delivered on July 17, upheld an earlier Federal High Court judgment from March 24, 2022, which recognised the Incorporated Trustees as the lawful and legitimate leadership of the association.

The court, he added, dismissed Ibrahim’s appeal as lacking merit, effectively nullifying all claims made by his group.

“This judgment is final, binding, and leaves no room for confusion. Any further activity or representation by the Ibrahim-led committee is not just unauthorised—it is misleading and potentially fraudulent,” Rabiu-Mudi stated.

AFAN urged all stakeholders to direct official communications and partnerships only through the Incorporated Trustees to avoid falling victim to deception.

“Any invitation, proposal, or statement from Kabir Ibrahim or his team should be disregarded. We urge all parties to verify information through legitimate AFAN channels.”

The president reiterated AFAN’s commitment to transparent leadership, farmer-focused development, and institutional credibility—warning that the association will not tolerate imposters.

With this decisive statement, AFAN has not only reclaimed its voice but also sent a clear message: there is only one AFAN leadership, and it’s not Kabir Ibrahim’s.
