AfroBasket 2025: D’Tigress Edge Senegal 75–68 to Reach Final

Nigeria’s D’Tigress have secured a place in the final of the 2025 FIBA Women’s AfroBasket after a hard-fought 75–68 win over Senegal in a thrilling semi-final clash.

The victory marks Nigeria’s ninth consecutive win over Senegal and extends their unbeaten AfroBasket streak to 28 games under head coach Rena Wakama. The defending champions are now one win away from claiming a historic fifth straight continental title.

Senegal opened strongly, racing to an 11–2 lead early in the first quarter. But the D’Tigress quickly regrouped and surged ahead 22–17 by the end of the quarter.

Nigeria built on their momentum in the second quarter, stretching their lead to 43–37 at halftime. The tide shifted in the third quarter as Senegal fought back to snatch a 54–50 advantage.

However, the final quarter belonged to the Nigerians. With grit and discipline, D’Tigress turned the game around and sealed a commanding 75–68 win to punch their ticket to the final.
