‘They’re Building Hope, Not Just Roads’: Onaiwu Applauds PDP Governors for Transformative Leadership

Earl Osaro Onaiwu, the founding Director-General of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governors’ Forum, has lauded PDP governors for setting new benchmarks in people-focused governance, saying their achievements are reshaping lives and redefining leadership across Nigeria.
In a statement issued Sunday, Onaiwu celebrated what he called “bold, compassionate governance” being delivered by PDP state executives—even amid intense political pressure and targeted intimidation.
“From Enugu to Zamfara, Oyo to Bauchi, Taraba to Adamawa, Osun to Plateau and Bayelsa—PDP governors are reminding Nigerians what true public service looks like,” he said.
“Despite distractions, they’ve remained focused on performance and the people.”
Onaiwu pointed to revitalized infrastructure, overhauled healthcare systems, modernized education initiatives, and robust youth empowerment programmes as tangible evidence of impact. He said the PDP-led states are not merely managing the present—they’re actively building a future.
“They’re not just building roads—they’re building hope.
They’re not just erecting hospitals—they’re saving lives,” he remarked. “This is the kind of leadership Nigerians need now more than ever.”
The former DG urged Nigerians to look beyond political rhetoric and recognize the quiet revolution happening in PDP states—driven by vision, accountability, and empathy.
He also called on the Federal Government to embrace a non-partisan approach to development, saying cooperation with high-performing state governments should come above party loyalties.
“This is bigger than party politics—this is about progress. Good governance should be supported, not stifled. That’s how we move Nigeria forward,” Onaiwu said.
Reaffirming his commitment to spotlighting responsive leadership wherever it exists, Onaiwu challenged leaders nationwide to draw inspiration from the results-driven governance being demonstrated across PDP-controlled states.
“At a time when Nigerians are demanding more from their leaders, the PDP governors are stepping up—and standing tall.”
