Insider Job Foiled: Troops Bust Security Duo Aiding Terrorists in North-East

In a shocking twist, two members of the hybrid security forces collaborating with Nigerian troops have been arrested for aiding terrorists in the North-East.
According to Defence Headquarters, the arrests were part of a sweeping operation conducted between April 26 and 29 across Bama, Kukawa, and Madagali LGAs in Borno and Adamawa states.

Director of Media Operations, Major General Markus Kangye, described their actions as a “betrayal” and urged field commanders to educate troops against such acts of sabotage.
The two were among four terror logistics suppliers captured during the operation.

Despite this setback, the military launched multiple offensives in key hotspots including Gwoza, Dikwa, Chibok, and Gujba, killing several terrorists, rescuing six hostages, and seizing arms, motorcycles, and bicycles.

In the South-South, troops also struck hard against oil thieves, seizing over 160,000 litres of stolen and illegally refined products, dismantling dozens of illegal refining sites, and confiscating boats, storage tanks, and other tools of the trade.
