Kogi CP presents N11m cheques to families of fallen Police officers

THE Nigeria Police, Kogi State Command has disbursed cheques worth over N11 million to the families of three fallen Police officers who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to the nation.
The state Commissioner of Police, Miller Dantawaye presented the cheques of ₦11,245,379.35 to representatives of the three families at the Command headquarters in Lokoja.
He said that the disbursement was part of the ongoing commitment of the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun and the Police Force Welfare Scheme to provide financial support and relief to the families of officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty.
“This initiative is aimed at ensuring that the families of fallen heroes are not left behind, and to help them cope with the financial burdens that often arise in the wake of such unfortunate events”, he said.
CP Dantawaye reiterated the commitment of the Command to the welfare of officers and their families of the Force as part of efforts to boost their efficiency.
The presentation ceremony was attended by senior police officers from the Kogi State Police Command.
According to the statement issued by the Command’s Police Public Relations Officer, (PPRO), Williams Ovye Aya, the benefitting families expressed their gratitude for the gesture.
They said that the gesture did not only provides financial support but also presents a sense of security during a difficult times.
According to Aya, through the Group Life Assurance and the IGP Family Welfare Schemes, the Command aims to continue offering assistance to the families of officers who fall in the line of duty,
This, he said, would also ensure that their sacrifices are recognized and that their families are provided with the necessary resources to maintain their well-being. (Ends)
