Prince Gowon Enenche has converted a promise made to Catholic women in Ankpa into a brand-new Toyota Sienna bus, strengthening the mobility of the Catholic Women Organisation (CWO), Ankpa Deanery.

Enenche, Chairman of G1 Group and Social Democratic Party (SDP) candidate for Ankpa/Omala/Olamaboro Federal Constituency, handed over the vehicle during the 2026 Onobule Omemele Award-Giving Ceremony and Fundraising event.

The ceremony was attended by the Catholic Bishop of Idah Diocese, Most Rev. Dr. Anthony Ademu Adaji, MSP, alongside Catholic faithful, community leaders and other dignitaries.

The donation came several months after Enenche pledged the vehicle during the CWO Ankpa Deanery Mother’s Day celebration at St. Charles College, Ankpa.

Rather than leave the commitment as a promise, Enenche returned to the organisation with the vehicle, saying he believed public commitments should be backed by action.

“When I made the promise, it was not merely a statement made for the occasion,” he said.

According to him, the bus is intended to help the CWO coordinate its meetings, outreach programmes and other activities across the deanery.

Enenche said his intervention was driven by the need to support institutions working directly with families and communities.

“This is not simply about donating a vehicle. It is about supporting an institution that contributes to the welfare of families, women and communities,” he said.

He also called for greater support for community and faith-based organisations, arguing that their contributions to grassroots development should not be viewed solely through political considerations.

For the CWO, the donation is expected to ease transportation challenges and improve its ability to execute programmes across Ankpa Deanery.

The organisation expressed appreciation to Enenche for keeping his word, describing the vehicle as a practical boost to its activities.

Enenche said the gesture reflected his broader belief that meaningful service should be measured by tangible impact rather than promises alone.
