The Adewole Adebayo-Bugaje Presidential Campaign Council has described Prince Adewole Adebayo of the Social Democratic Party as the best among the major presidential contenders ahead of the 2027 election.
The council made the claim on Friday in Abuja during a press conference addressed by its Chief Communications Adviser, Comrade Mark Adebayo.
Mark said Nigeria was at a critical point and needed a leader who could bring real change.
He said the council based its position on Adebayo’s intellect, preparation, integrity and policy plans.
The campaign council said Adebayo’s major advantage was his four-year plan, “Farewell to Poverty and Insecurity.”
It described the document as a clear plan to tackle poverty, insecurity, unemployment, poor infrastructure and other national problems.
The council also cited the late Lagos State governor, Lateef Jakande, as an example of what could be achieved within one term.
It said the SDP offered Nigerians an alternative to the APC and PDP, which it described as “Siamese twins.”
Council attacks major rivals
The campaign council also compared Adebayo with Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi and President Bola Tinubu.
On Atiku, it said Adebayo had stronger personal and professional records, while referring to past questions raised about the former vice-president.
On Obi, the council said Adebayo offered what it described as a broader policy approach and was not dependent on ethnic or religious sentiments.
The council also challenged President Tinubu to a public debate on the economy, security, agriculture, technology and constitutional issues.
It said Adebayo was ready to debate any presidential candidate at any time.
The campaign council accused the Tinubu administration of worsening poverty, hunger and insecurity.
It also alleged that plans were being made to manipulate the 2027 election and urged Nigerians to protect their votes.
Adebayo’s four-year plan
The council said an Adebayo government would establish a National Anti-Kidnapping and Banditry Command to fight insecurity.
It also promised massive investment in solar power and a major reform of the electricity sector.
The council proposed modular refineries in every state and promised to revive existing refineries.
It also plans to build three million affordable houses in four years as part of its economic programme.
On agriculture, the council proposed a regional approach, with different parts of the country focusing on crops and businesses suited to their areas.
The council also promised to strengthen anti-corruption agencies and recover allegedly stolen public funds.
Mark urged Nigerians to judge candidates by their plans and public debates rather than ethnicity, religion or money.
“Look at the blueprints. Listen to the debates. Evaluate the intellect,” he said.
