The Allied Peoples Movement (APM) has officially launched its presidential campaign headquarters in Abuja, unveiling a compelling 2027 campaign centered on the Seyi Makinde-Lawal Daura ticket and a bold vision to “reset Nigeria.”
During the inauguration on Monday, APM National Chairman Dr. Yusuf Dantalle described the event as the start of a nationwide movement aimed at redirecting the country’s trajectory.
He emphasized the unique combination of Makinde’s governance experience as the Governor of Oyo State and Daura’s extensive security expertise, positioning the pair to effectively tackle pressing issues like insecurity.
“With Daura’s leadership, who once oversaw a vital security service, we are set to confront insecurity head-on,” Dantalle stated, committing to a campaign focused on competence, national unity, and practical solutions rather than divisive rhetoric.
The APM also celebrated recent electoral victories, including a clean sweep of local government elections in Bauchi State, signifying rising support as they gear up for the 2027 elections.
Makinde took the opportunity to address Nigeria’s petroleum pricing, advocating for domestic crude allocations that reflect local production costs instead of arbitrary global prices. He called for increased transparency throughout the petroleum value chain, asserting that Nigerians deserve clarity on how prices are set.
With confidence, Makinde dismissed critics questioning the strength of his political movement, arguing that such skepticism undermines the aspirations of millions of Nigerians. He stated, “What skeptics are really saying is that the hopes of millions of Nigerians do not count.”
Emphasizing the need for a national dialogue, he urged citizens from all walks of life—traders, farmers, workers, and youth—to actively participate in shaping the 2027 campaign.
Inviting the public to engage at the newly launched headquarters, Makinde urged voters to rigorously examine political proposals and demand accountable leadership.
“This is our country; these are our resources; we count, and together, we will reset Nigeria,” he proclaimed, rallying support for the APM agenda.
