Popular Nigerian singer Innocent Idibia, widely known as 2Baba, has publicly addressed his separation from actress Annie Macaulay after more than a decade of marriage. The couple, who married in May 2012, officially separated in January 2025 following years of both private and public challenges.
Speaking on the 234 Mzansi Podcast, 2Baba said: “I think both of us gave it our best… She’s amazing, it just wasn’t working no more.”
He emphasized that while he wouldn’t delve into details, they both made efforts to salvage the relationship but ultimately accepted that it had run its course. He encouraged people not to remain in unhappy marriages just to satisfy societal expectations:
“It’s always good not to torture yourself… many people have gone to their grave very sad people.”
2Baba also made a controversial remark on male sexuality: “A man is not built to sexually be with one woman… An individual can decide not to go that route but I’m talking about the biology of men.”
He claimed that while love and respect can be directed toward one partner, sexual exclusivity is biologically unnatural for men, a statement that has stirred online debate.
New Relationship with Natasha Osawaru
The singer has since moved on and is now in a relationship with Natasha Osawaru, a member of the Edo State House of Assembly. Their relationship was confirmed in February 2025, with 2Baba reportedly proposing to her, signaling a new chapter in his life.
